Easter Ceasefire Ends Amid New Attacks in Ukraine, Russia
The ceasefire, which started Saturday evening at 6 p.m. Moscow time (1500 GMT), concluded at midnight without any formal continuation, as both nations blamed each other for breaching the agreement during its duration.
Ukraine’s Air Force announced via Telegram that it had intercepted 42 out of 96 unmanned aerial vehicles launched by Russian forces overnight.
The regions most impacted by these drone strikes were Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv.
In the northeastern province of Kharkiv, regional leader Oleh Synyehubov disclosed on Telegram that three distinct missile attacks struck the Kupiansk district near the front line, causing harm to civilian homes.
Concurrently, Dnipropetrovsk Governor Serhiy Lysak stated that a blaze erupted at a food facility in Pavlohrad due to the drone barrage.
He also noted structural damage in the communities of Pidhorodne and Mezhova.
“Over our sky, eight Russian drones were destroyed by air defense forces and means. However, as a result of Russian aggression, an infrastructure facility was damaged,” declared Cherkasy Governor Ihor Taburets.
Elsewhere, regional administrations in Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Sumy also documented assaults within their territories, adding to the widespread unrest that resumed as the temporary Easter halt in hostilities came to a close.
