Iran Signals Deal Possibility, Urges U.S. to Refrain from Coercion
Pezeshkian stated, "Reaching an agreement with the United States is achievable. However, making that happen requires a fundamental condition that the American side refrains from the approach of coercion."
The Qatari Prime Minister responded by voicing Qatar's support for Iran's rights and asserted that pressure and coercion had proven ineffective when dealing with Iran, "as shown by experience."
In a separate meeting with Oman's Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, also in Tehran, Pezeshkian commended Oman's "committed and constructive" role in facilitating indirect talks between Iran and the US. He expressed optimism that these discussions would yield a fair agreement, fostering lasting stability in West Asia.
Oman has played a key role in mediating the indirect talks between Iranian and U.S. delegations regarding Iran's nuclear program and the lifting of U.S. sanctions. Four rounds of these talks have taken place since April 12th, with three held in Muscat and one in Rome.
