International Family Forum Begins in Istanbul
(MENAFN) The International Family Forum commenced in Istanbul on Thursday, drawing officials and ministers representing 27 nations.
The two-day gathering is being conducted under the theme, “Our Family, Our Future,” and is hosted by Türkiye’s Ministry of Family and Social Services.
The event is a part of the country’s 2025 Year of the Family initiative.
Anadolu has been designated as the official international media collaborator for the forum.
During the forum’s inauguration, Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas, expressed that convening such a forum during a time of mounting global instability and profound societal transformation sends a powerful signal to the global audience.
She noted that the event aims to tackle a broad array of matters, including the impacts of digital transformation, demographic transitions, cultural trends, and public policy.
Minister Goktas highlighted that one of the central aims of the forum is to analyze worldwide challenges facing the family structure and to investigate avenues for strengthening family-oriented strategies across nations.
“Our greatest hope is for the dialogue we build here to continue beyond the forum and pave the way for lasting international cooperation to address threats facing families and dynamic population structures,” she declared, underlining the significance of ongoing conversation and collaboration.
She further pointed out the necessity of adopting approaches that place the safeguarding of families at the heart of various sectors, from city development and schooling systems to broadcast media and online technologies.
Minister Goktas concluded by asserting the importance of establishing a robust form of “family diplomacy” on a global scale.
She stated that, “Just like the environment, climate, or human rights, the family should now be a global agenda item.”
She emphasized the need to uphold a framework for international partnership that honors cultural traditions while also valuing universal ethics.
