Two people pass away when light aircraft crashed in Spain

(MENAFN) Two men lost their lives on Saturday after a light aircraft went down in Spain’s Valencia region, according to regional authorities.

The crash happened near the town of Requena at around 11:25 a.m., when the plane sharply descended shortly after takeoff and struck fields nearby. The impact and subsequent fire completely destroyed the aircraft.

Investigators are still determining the cause, though reports indicate that weather conditions were favorable at the time. Both victims were residents of Valencia. One of them, aged 70, was known to have close ties to the Requena Aerodrome—a privately operated airfield near the town used mainly for training and private aviation.
